Robert Brant is the Co-head of the firm's Indigenous Projects and Transactions Group. He is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer, focusing his practice on mergers & acquisitions, capital markets and projects work, especially as they relate to Canada’s Indigenous people.
Having spent more than 20 years as the Managing Partner of the firm’s London, England office, few Canadian lawyers have as much international experience to draw upon in crafting solutions to meet the needs of our Indigenous and non-Indigenous clients alike.
Mr. Brant’s experience extends to a number of different sectors with a focus on all forms of energy and natural resources. Clients that Mr. Brant has recently advised include Asanko Gold, CGI, CIBC, Dadco Group, Duke Royalty, Enbridge, First Quantum Minerals, Helios Investors, Heritage Oil, Mercuria Energy Trading, National Bank, Sundial Growers, TD Bank and Vitol.
Rob is a past President of the Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce and maintains strong ties to the UK. He is the Chair of the Maple Leaf Trust, the leading charity in the UK for Canadians, which supports a variety of causes including Canadian veterans and students living in the United Kingdom and the UK Terry Fox Run for cancer research in the UK.
He is a regular speaker on energy and natural resource issues especially as they relate to Indigenous communities and is a proud member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, a Kanyen’kéha (Mohawk) community and territory today located halfway between Toronto and Montreal.
