Scott is Kaska Dena (Yukon Territory).

As Chief Executive Officer of the FMB, one of four national fiscal institutions created under the First Nations Fiscal Management Act to support First Nations economic development, Scott liaises and builds relationships with Indigenous governments and rights holders, partners, and organizations across the country. Scott works closely with the Board of Directors to advance FMB’s mission and strategic objectives.

Since joining the FMB in 2011, Scott has developed strong relationships with First Nations governments, including their elected and hereditary leaders; staff in many federal government departments such as Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC), Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Statistics Canada; institutions like Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), the Bank of Canada and Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board; and Indigenous organizations like Aboriginal Financial Officers Association Canada (AFOA Canada) and the Assembly of First Nations.

Scott is currently the Chair of the Canadian Public Sector Accounting Board’s Indigenous Advisory Group and is active in building partnerships with professional organizations to promote reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples. By engaging with the International and Canadian Sustainability Standards Boards, Scott has been successful in achieving more recognition of Indigenous leadership within this emerging field.

Additionally, Scott is a Board Member of British Columbia Financial Services Authority, a Crown agency that oversees credit unions, trust companies, insurance companies, pension plans, mortgage brokers and real estate professionals to ensure that financial services transactions are protected, for the prosperity of consumers and the province of BC.

Scott has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University and FCPA, FCA, and CAFM designations. He brings over 20 years of finance and leadership experience from both the private and public sector.
